Bold, intelligent, and magnificently patterned — the Venustus Cichlid (Nimbochromis venustus), also known as the Giraffe Cichlid, is one of the most striking and impressive Lake Malawi haplochromine cichlids. With its distinctive giraffe-like blotched pattern and vivid blue-yellow colouration in males, the Venustus is a commanding and visually spectacular fish for large African cichlid aquariums.

Appearance

The Venustus Cichlid displays a distinctive giraffe-like pattern of large, irregular brown blotches on a pale yellow to cream background — a bold, graphic pattern that is immediately recognizable.
