Appearance
The Red Honey Gourami displays a vivid red to orange-red colouration across the entire body, with the intensity of colour most vivid in males in breeding condition. The long, thread-like pelvic fins — characteristic of all gouramis — trail gracefully below the body. Males display the most intense red colouration, while females are more subdued. Under aquarium lighting, the vivid red body glows warmly, making this one of the most colourful small gouramis available.

Compatibility & Tank Mates
One of the most peaceful gouramis available. Excellent tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, and Neocaridina shrimp. Avoid boisterous or aggressive fish that may stress them.
Breeding
Bubble nest builders. Males construct a floating bubble nest and court females. Eggs are deposited in the nest and guarded by the male. Fry hatch in 24–48 hours.
