Tiny, active, and wonderfully distinctive — the Tail Spot Corydoras (Corydoras hastatus) is one of the smallest and most charming Corydoras species in the freshwater hobby. Like its close relative the Pygmy Cory, the Tail Spot is a mid-water schooler that darts and hovers in open water in tight groups, and is instantly recognizable by the bold black spot at the base of its tail — the feature that gives this species its common name.
