Appearance

The Sao Felix Altum Angelfish displays the extraordinary height and bold markings characteristic of Pterophyllum altum — a silver to pale gold body with three bold dark vertical bars and the distinctive notch above the mouth unique to this species. The dramatically elongated dorsal and anal fins can reach up to 20 inches from tip to tip, making this the tallest freshwater aquarium fish available. Diet & Feeding

Best kept in a species-only or carefully chosen community with similarly sized, peaceful blackwater fish. Good tank mates include Cardinal Tetras, Rummy Nose Tetras, and other soft-water species. Avoid boisterous or aggressive fish.
