Super Red Ruby tetra(Axelrodia Riesei)

Axelrodia riesei , or better known as "Ruby tetra". This tetra is one of the 3 characin species sold under the trade name "ruby tetra".
Axelrodia riesei is more red than other species like stigmatias and easier to condition to get that red colouration out of them! 
The ones we have in our display tank are over 1 year of care within our store! 

Ruby tetras are sold under 2-3 different species with varying degree of redness.
it could very well be that there are more species of "ruby" tetras than previously thought.
mainly due to the ability to colour up or not. 

the Axelrodia stigmatias we have seem to not have coloured up however our Axelrodia riesei were red upon arrival. 
Keep in mind, all tetras are micropedators! 
Can they be kept with shrimps? Yes but adults only and they will likely eat some of your babies/all of your baby shrimplets if there is not enough plant cover for the shrimps!
