Appearance

The Red Zebra Cichlid displays a vivid, uniform red to orange-red colouration across the entire body — one of the most saturated and eye-catching red colourations in the Mbuna world. Females are typically orange to orange-red, while males can display blue to blue-grey colouration in some populations. The vivid red colouration stands out dramatically in any Malawi aquarium, creating a bold, fiery focal point.
