Diet

Red Crystal Shrimp are omnivores that graze continuously.

• Primary: Biofilm and algae from a mature, well-established tank
• Supplemental: High-quality shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach), daphnia or protein feed 1–2× per week
• Leaf Litter: Mulberry, almond, or walnut leaves — break down into a continuous biofilm food source

Breeding & Behaviour

• Breeding: Possible under stable, optimal conditions. Females carry 10–30 eggs for 4–6 weeks. Offspring patterns vary due to hybrid genetics.
• Behaviour: Peaceful and social — best kept in groups. Avoid large or aggressive fish.
• Tankmates: Compatible with other peaceful soft-water Caridina species (Crystal Reds, Blue Bolts). Do not mix with Neocaridina — water parameters are incompatible.
• Avoid: Copper-based medications and sudden parameter swings
