The Blue Gourami displays a beautiful blue to steel-blue colouration across the body, with two distinctive dark spots — one in the middle of the body and one at the base of the caudal fin — that are characteristic of the Three-spot Gourami (the eye being the third “spot”). The long, thread-like pelvic fins trail gracefully below the body. Males develop a more pointed dorsal fin and display more intense blue colouration during breeding condition.

Compatibility & Tank Mates
Generally peaceful with most community fish. Good tank mates include tetras, barbs, Corydoras, and livebearers. Males can be territorial with other gouramis — keep one male per tank unless the aquarium is large. Avoid very small fish that may be harassed.
Breeding
Bubble nest builders. Males construct a large floating bubble nest and court females. Eggs are deposited in the nest and guarded by the male. Fry hatch in 24–48 hours.
The Blue Gourami is a hardy and beautiful classic that brings cool blue colour and lively personality to any community aquarium. A timeless favourite for aquarists of all levels.
