Compatibility & Tank Mates

One of the most peaceful and community-friendly gouramis. Excellent tank mates include tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, and other peaceful community fish. Avoid aggressive fish or fin-nippers. Males may spar with each other — keep one male per tank unless the aquarium is large.

Breeding

Pearl Gouramis are bubble nest builders. Males construct a floating bubble nest and court females with an elaborate display. Eggs are deposited in the nest and guarded by the male. Fry hatch in 24–48 hours and become free-swimming within a few days.

The Pearl Gourami is a timeless classic — peaceful, beautiful, and endlessly rewarding. A must-have for any planted community aquarium.
