Appearance
The Neon Dwarf Gourami displays a vivid pattern of alternating neon blue and red-orange diagonal stripes across the body — the intense, electric colouration that gives this variety its neon name. The blue stripes shimmer with an almost iridescent quality under aquarium lighting, while the red-orange stripes provide a warm, contrasting accent. The long, thread-like pelvic fins trail gracefully below the body. Under good aquarium lighting, the neon colouration appears almost luminous, making this one of the most visually striking small gouramis available.

Bubble nest builders. Males construct a floating bubble nest and court females. Eggs are deposited in the nest and guarded by the male. Fry hatch in 24–48 hours.
