Metallic Sheen Meets Intricate Grass Patterning
The Metal Blue Grass Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a breathtaking high-grade fancy guppy that combines two of the most coveted traits in guppy breeding — a full metallic blue body sheen and the delicate, lace-like grass pattern across the caudal fin. The result is a fish of extraordinary visual complexity: a shimmering, iridescent blue body that catches the light from every angle, paired with a finely detailed tail that resembles a mosaic of tiny dots and lines. A true collector’s guppy.
Our Metal Blue Grass Guppies are high-grade specimens selectively bred for strong metallic coverage, vivid blue colouration, and well-defined grass patterning in the tail.

Appearance
Males display a full metallic blue body — a dense, reflective sheen that covers the entire body and shifts between deep cobalt and electric blue under aquarium lighting. The caudal fin carries the signature grass pattern: a fine, intricate network of dots and lines that gives the tail a lace-like, almost translucent quality. The combination of the solid metallic body and the delicate grass tail creates a striking visual contrast that makes this variety stand out in any tank.
Water Parameters & Tank Setup

Diet & Feeding
- Staple: High-quality flake food or micro pellets
- Treats: Baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and micro worms to enhance metallic colouration
Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Compatibility & Tank Mates
- Other peaceful guppy strains and livebearers

- Avoid fin-nipping species to protect the delicate grass tail
Breeding
Livebearers that breed readily. Females give birth to live fry every 4–6 weeks. Fry from high-grade parents will display metallic and grass traits as they mature. Provide floating plants or a breeding box to protect fry.
