• Water: Clean, dechlorinated water with a stable pH around 6.5–7.5. Test regularly for ammonia and nitrite and keep both at zero.
• Food: A quality betta pellet with occasional frozen or live foods for variety. Feed small portions and remove leftovers.
• Tankmates: Female bettas can still be territorial. Keep singly unless you have a suitable, carefully monitored setup; avoid fin-nipping or aggressive companions.
