Hardy, versatile, and essential for any guppy breeding project — Female Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are the backbone of every guppy colony. While less flamboyant than their male counterparts, female guppies are larger, robust, and carry the genetics that produce the next generation of beautiful offspring. Whether you're starting a breeding project or simply adding peaceful, active fish to a community tank, female guppies are an excellent choice.

Female guppies are noticeably larger and more robust than males, with a rounder belly and a shorter, less ornate tail. Breeding
Female guppies are livebearers and can store sperm from a single mating to produce multiple batches of fry over several months. They give birth to live fry every 4–6 weeks, with litter sizes ranging from 10 to 60+ fry depending on age and size. Provide floating plants or a breeding box to protect fry from being eaten. Fry can be fed crushed flake food or baby brine shrimp from birth.
Female Guppies are an indispensable part of any guppy keeping or breeding setup — hardy, prolific, and easy to care for. Stock your tank with quality females and enjoy the rewarding experience of raising new generations of beautiful guppies.
