The Golden Balloon Ram is a captivating selectively bred variant of the German Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi), combining two distinctive traits: the warm golden-yellow body colouration of the Golden Ram and the rounded, compact body shape of the Balloon Ram. The result is a small, plump, jewel-like fish that radiates warmth and colour in any planted aquarium — a true conversation piece for the discerning aquarist.

Big Personality in a Small Package

Despite their compact size, Golden Balloon Rams are full of personality. They are curious, interactive fish that quickly learn to recognize their keeper and will often approach the front of the tank at feeding time. Pairs form strong bonds and display fascinating courtship and parenting behaviours, making them as rewarding to observe as they are beautiful to look at.
