Appearance
The Demasoni Cichlid displays a vivid pattern of alternating electric blue and dark blue-black vertical stripes running across the entire body and fins — a bold, graphic pattern that is immediately recognizable and highly attractive. Both males and females display similar colouration, making sexing by colour alone difficult. The vivid blue-and-black striped pattern creates a dramatic, eye-catching display that stands out in any Malawi aquarium.

Diet & Feeding

Compatibility & Tank Mates
Must be kept in groups of 12 or more to spread aggression — in smaller groups, dominant males will target and kill subordinates. Best kept in a species-only tank or with other robust Mbuna. The high group number is essential for the wellbeing of all fish.
Breeding
Maternal mouthbrooders. Females incubate eggs in their mouths for 3–4 weeks.
