Cryptocoryne wendtii sp. Green Gecko T/C
A collector's cultivar with serious character — Cryptocoryne wendtii sp. Green Gecko is a striking, rare variant of the classic Wendtii lineage, distinguished by its vivid, patterned foliage reminiscent of the intricate markings of a gecko's skin. This tissue culture (T/C) edition arrives 100% sterile, algae-free, snail-free, and pest-free, making it an ideal choice for shrimp tanks, high-clarity aquascapes, and discerning planted tank enthusiasts.
Imagine the rich, mottled green of Green Gecko's leaves catching the light in your aquascape — a plant that rewards close inspection with ever more detail. Once established, it steadily spreads via runners, building a lush colony that adds depth, texture, and a sense of wildness to any layout.
Appearance
Features broad, slightly elongated leaves with a distinctive mottled or patterned surface texture in rich shades of green, often with subtle lighter markings along the midrib and veins. Grows to approximately 10–20 cm, making it well-suited for foreground to mid-ground placement.
Care & Requirements
- Lighting: Low to medium — patterning and colour are most vivid under moderate light
- CO₂: Not required; supplementation encourages lusher, faster growth
- Fertilizer: Root tabs strongly recommended; liquid fertilizer beneficial
- Temperature: 22–28°C (72–82°F)
- pH: 6.0–7.5
- Growth Rate: Slow to moderate — brief Crypt melt after planting is normal and temporary
- Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate preferred for best growth and colouration
T/C Cup Advantage
