Cryptocoryne Walkeri T/C Cup

A classic for a reason — Cryptocoryne Walkeri is one of the most adaptable and rewarding Crypts in the aquarium hobby. This tissue culture (T/C) cup edition is 100% algae-free, snail-free, and pest-free, making it the cleanest and safest way to introduce this beloved plant into your aquascape.

Imagine a lush, naturally textured mid-ground anchoring your planted tank — the warm olive-green to bronze tones of Crypt Walkeri creating a soft, organic depth that no artificial decor can replicate. Over time, it spreads through runners to fill gaps and add a sense of established, thriving life to any layout.

Appearance

Broad, lance-shaped leaves with a subtle texture and color range from bright olive-green to deep brownish-bronze depending on lighting and water conditions. Grows to a manageable 10–20 cm, making it ideal for mid-ground placement in most tank sizes.

Care & Requirements

  • Lighting: Low to medium — highly adaptable, tolerates low-tech setups well
  • CO₂: Not required; optional supplementation encourages denser growth
  • Fertilizer: Root tabs strongly recommended; benefits from liquid ferts
  • Temperature: 22–28°C (72–82°F)
  • pH: 6.0–7.5
  • Growth Rate: Slow to moderate — expect a brief "Crypt melt" adjustment period after planting
  • Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate preferred

T/C Cup Advantage

  • Grown in sterile laboratory conditions
  • 100% free of algae, snails, pests, and parasites
  • Safe for shrimp and sensitive fish species
  • Multiple plantlets per cup — great value

Placement & Compatibility

Best suited for mid-ground placement in community tanks, planted Discus setups, and shrimp tanks. Compatible with virtually all peaceful fish, shrimp, and snails. Plant directly into substrate and allow 2–4 weeks to acclimate before full growth resumes.
