Cryptocoryne Crispatula var. Balansae Pink T/C Cup
A true showstopper among Crypts — Cryptocoryne Crispatula var. Balansae Pink is the rare, rosy-hued form of one of the hobby's most dramatic long-leaf Cryptocorynes. This tissue culture (T/C) cup edition arrives 100% sterile, algae-free, snail-free, and pest-free, giving you the cleanest possible start for your planted tank.
Picture long, elegantly rippled leaves with a warm pink to reddish-brown blush swaying gently in your tank's current — an exotic, graceful presence that draws the eye and gives any aquascape a sense of natural grandeur. Over time, it spreads via runners to fill the background with lush, flowing foliage.
Appearance
Features long, narrow, heavily rippled (bullate) leaves with a distinctive pinkish to reddish-brown coloration on the underside and midrib. Leaves can reach 30–60 cm in optimal conditions, making it a standout background plant. Color intensity deepens under moderate lighting.
Care & Requirements
- Lighting: Low to medium — pink coloration intensifies with moderate light
- CO₂: Not required; supplementation encourages faster growth and richer color
- Fertilizer: Root tabs highly recommended; liquid fertilizer beneficial
- Temperature: 22–28°C (72–82°F)
- pH: 6.0–7.5
- Growth Rate: Slow to moderate — allow 2–4 weeks acclimation; brief Crypt melt is normal
- Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate strongly preferred for best growth and coloration
