Tiny, speckled, and absolutely delightful — the Salt & Pepper Cory (Corydoras hasbrosus) is one of the smallest and most charming Corydoras species in the freshwater hobby. Named for its distinctive salt-and-pepper speckled pattern, this diminutive South American catfish is a perfect choice for nano aquariums and planted tanks, where its small size and peaceful nature make it an ideal community fish.

The Salt & Pepper Cory has a pale silver to cream body covered with fine, irregular dark speckles — the “salt and pepper” pattern that gives this species its common name. A bold dark blotch on the caudal peduncle is a characteristic feature. Like the Pygmy Cory, the Salt & Pepper Cory is a mid-water swimmer that often hovers and darts in open water in addition to foraging on the bottom, making a group of them a lively and entertaining addition to any nano aquarium.

The Salt & Pepper Cory is a nano aquarium gem — tiny, speckled, and endlessly entertaining. Keep a large group and enjoy their lively, social behaviour every day.
