Appearance

The Blue Dwarf Gourami displays a vivid, intense blue colouration across the body, often with subtle iridescent highlights that shimmer under aquarium lighting. The long, thread-like pelvic fins trail gracefully below the body. Males display the most intense blue colouration, while females are more subdued. Under aquarium lighting, the vivid blue body creates a striking, jewel-like presence in any planted tank.

Compatibility & Tank Mates

Excellent community fish. Good tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, and Neocaridina shrimp. Avoid aggressive fish or fin-nippers. Keep one male per tank to prevent territorial disputes.

Breeding

Bubble nest builders. Males construct a floating bubble nest and court females. Eggs are deposited in the nest and guarded by the male. Fry hatch in 24–48 hours.
