Care at a glance

• Tank: A mature, cycled aquarium of at least 20 L with a secure lid, gentle filtration, and places to rest and hide.
• Temperature: Keep water warm and stable, around 24–28°C (75–82°F).
• Water: Clean, dechlorinated water; aim for a stable pH around 6.5–7.5 and test regularly for ammonia and nitrite.
• Diet: Feed a quality betta pellet, with occasional frozen or live foods as variety. Offer small portions and remove uneaten food.
• Temperament: Bettas may be territorial. Avoid housing them with other bettas, and choose any tankmates carefully.

Give your betta a calm, planted home with gentle flow, and it can become a captivating little centerpiece. As with all live fish, acclimate slowly to your aquarium before release.
