The Rose Tail Betta (Betta splendens) is one of the most visually spectacular freshwater fish available in the hobby. Named for its extravagant, rose-petal-like finnage, this variety features overlapping rays that create a lush, ruffled appearance unlike any other Betta. Each fish is unique — colours range from deep crimson and royal blue to iridescent turquoise and rich violet, making every specimen a one-of-a-kind centrepiece.

Care at a Glance

• Tank size: Minimum 10 gallons recommended for a single male
• Temperament: Solitary — males must be kept alone or with peaceful, non-fin-nipping tankmates
• Diet: Carnivorous — thrives on high-protein pellets, frozen bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp
• Compatibility: Avoid housing with other Bettas or fin-nipping species
