Native to fast-flowing, oxygen-rich streams in the Philippines and surrounding islands, the Atro Blue Neon Stiphodon is a grazing goby that spends its time clinging to rocks and hard surfaces, feeding on biofilm and algae. Males in peak condition are breathtaking — their bodies suffused with deep blue-black and electric neon blue that intensifies with mood and dominance. Females and juveniles are more subtly patterned but equally fascinating in behaviour.
