APT - APTE / Estimative index
APT - APTE / Estimative index
APT E / estimative index is a specific concentration (not formulation) ratio that was designed and coined by Tom barr (Barreport).
In short, estimative index is a method of dosing your planted tanks with as high of a concertation as possible without reaching the lethal limit for fish, shrimps, and plants included.
How to use EI (Estimative index)?
For more general understanding, you are adding as much fertilizer as possible without harming your livestock inside your tank (shrimp, snails, fish, plants) .
However with this sort of dosing method, you are required to do a minimum of 50% water change every week as you would be dosing either 1-5 times a week (depending on plant demand).
For ease of use, it is suggested to start at the minimum and slowly increase your rate of dosage (not amount) by 1 every 1-2weeks.
You may experience more algae as you would be adding more fertilizer than your tank is used to.
Keep in mind, this solution is used primarily for heavily planted tanks (think 50-80% of your surface area is covered by plants)
Keep in mind, this is also supposed to be used in part with injected co2!
If using for non-co2 injected tanks, please use 1/4th dosing amount!
Note: please be careful on your addiction of fertilizers!
All nutrients are completely water soluble.
Dose 5ml per 100L four times a week or 3ml per 100L daily.
APT bottles come with a calibrated pump.
300ml. Lasts ~3mths for a 30 Gal / 115L tank.
