Why Tissue Culture?
Tissue culture plants are grown in sterile laboratory conditions, making them completely free of algae, snails, parasites, and pathogens. This makes them the safest choice for aquariums with shrimp, sensitive fish, or established planted tanks where introducing pests would be a serious concern.
Appearance
This cultivar displays compact, rounded to slightly oval leaves in a warm golden-yellow to bright lime-green colour that glows beautifully under aquarium lighting. New leaves often emerge with a more intense golden hue that gradually deepens as they mature. The small, tidy growth habit and warm colouration make this cultivar a standout accent plant in any aquascape.
Water Parameters & Care
- Temperature: 72 – 82°F (22 – 28°C)
- pH: 6.0 – 8.0
- General Hardness (GH): 3 – 20 dGH
- Lighting: Low to moderate — moderate lighting enhances the golden colouration
- CO₂: Not required
- Fertiliser: Benefits from occasional liquid fertiliser
Planting & Placement
Rinse the tissue culture gel from the roots before planting. Never bury the rhizome in substrate — attach to driftwood or rocks using fishing line, cotton thread, or aquarium-safe glue. Ideal for foreground and midground placement in nano and planted aquariums.
Compatibility
Compatible with all freshwater fish and invertebrates. Safe for shrimp tanks. Algae can develop on older leaves — Otocinclus, Amano shrimp, and Nerite snails are excellent companions for algae control.
Anubias barteri Round (Golden Coin) T/C Cup is a safe, clean, and beautiful plant that brings warm golden colour and compact elegance to any aquascape. Easy to keep, pest-free, and always rewarding — a perfect choice for any planted tank.
