Appearance
The Fahaka Puffer has a large, robust body with a distinctive pattern of horizontal stripes or bands running along the sides — the feature that gives it its alternative name, the Band Puffer. The dorsal surface is olive-brown to tan, while the ventral surface is pale yellow to white. The large, expressive eyes and powerful beak give this fish a commanding, almost prehistoric appearance. Juveniles display more vivid colouration that may fade slightly as the fish matures.

Compatibility & Tank Mates
Must be kept alone. The Fahaka Puffer is extremely aggressive and will attack and kill any tank mate, regardless of size. A dedicated species-only tank is absolutely required.
