The Dragon Blood Peacock displays a vivid, fiery combination of red-orange to pink body colouration with iridescent blue highlights on the face, fins, and body — a dramatic, multi-coloured display that evokes the colours of a mythical dragon. The intensity of the colouration is most vivid in dominant males in breeding condition. The Dragon Blood pattern varies between individuals, with some displaying more red-orange and others more pink, but all share the same vivid, multi-coloured quality.
