Appearance

The Snow Cichlid displays a clean, uniform white to pale cream colouration across the entire body — a striking, pure appearance that stands out dramatically against the colourful backdrop of a typical Malawi Mbuna aquarium. The pale colouration creates a beautiful contrast with the vivid blues, reds, and yellows of other Mbuna species. Both males and females display similar white colouration.

Diet & Feeding

Compatibility & Tank Mates

Best kept in a Lake Malawi Mbuna community. Keep in groups with multiple females per male. Avoid mixing with very aggressive species.

Breeding

Maternal mouthbrooders. Females incubate eggs in their mouths for 3–4 weeks.
